Agri Energy South – Preliminary Project for the Energy Solution of the Future

Challenge
The local group behind Agri Energy Syd ApS, in collaboration with the consulting company Spiras and the parent company Agri Energy, which counts Sauter Denmark and Stiesdal among its co-owners, plans to establish Denmark’s largest energy park based on biogas and pyrolysis technology.

Solution
This subsidy project aims to provide knowledge, studies, and clarifications that will pave the way for an investment decision.

As this is a preliminary project, the following activities are central:

  • Establishing the project organization
  • Informing farmers about the idea, potential, risks, and investment opportunities
  • Securing 25-40 supplier companies willing to commit to the investment during the development phase leading up to the investment decision
  • Exploring opportunities for supplying surplus heat to the Skrydstrup air base and nearby towns
  • Involving the local community
  • Establishing agreements for biomass supply
  • Conducting environmental assessments/EIA

Impact
First and foremost, the project will result in a visionary and strongly locally rooted company that contributes to achieving national and local goals in the DK2020 plans and the Climate Act. Additionally, the partners will create approximately 50-75 new jobs through the energy park, with expectations that it will indirectly generate at least 60-80 jobs in related industries, such as agriculture and crafts businesses.
