The EU is funding four green, mission-driven research and innovation partnerships, bringing together the country’s leading researchers, companies and organizations to make Denmark a leader in sustainability. These efforts focus on CO2 storage and utilization, Power-to-X, climate- and environmentally-friendly agriculture and food production, as well as circular economy initiatives, particularly for plastics and textiles.

The INNO-CCUS partnership aims to help Denmark achieve its climate goals by ensuring effective CO2 capture and storage, as well as developing methods to reuse CO2 as building blocks in new materials. The partnership is supported by the Innovation Fund Denmark and includes more than 80 partners from knowledge institutions, GTS institutes, private companies and public organizations. Energy Cluster Denmark helps support and facilitate innovation projects by providing assistance in partnership development, communication and fundraising.
The partnership is active in more than 30 innovation projects. The projects address innovation needs within five CCUS areas: chemical CO2 capture, biological CO2 capture and storage, geological CO2 storage, CO2 utilization, and society and systems analysis.
