This international innovation project will support the development of the Brazilian on-offshore wind supply chain based on establishment of innovative and strategic industry collaborations and co-development of innovative solutions between the Brazilian and Danish wind industries. The long-term effect is to contribute to export of Danish wind technology and services to Brazil and strengthen Denmark’s government-to-government cooperation through public private partnerships.
In more detail, the project objectives are:
- Strengthening the Brazilian supply chain in on-offshore wind energy by:

- Mapping of ports infrastructure and supply chain gaps in the Brazilian offshore wind industry and market. Thoroughly report developed by external consultant including identification of suitable ports for offshore wind development in the Northeast region of Brazil. In addition, identifying key competencies missing in offshore wind development in Brazil incl. investigation of correlated industries such as onshore wind and oil & gas that can potentially support development of offshore wind in the country. Finally, examples where Danish companies can support accelerate the development of the he Brazilian offshore wind value chain based on innovative and strategic partnerships with a mature Danish wind supply chain.
- Matching Danish companies and competencies to the identified gaps to support development of the Brazilian wind industry; and
- Establishing strategic and innovative collaboration partnerships across the wind energy supply chain in Brazil and for the benefit of Danish and Brazilian public and private stakeholders.
- Support establishment of a leading energy cluster in the state of Ceará, inspired by the Danish energy cluster model and best practices.
Activities timeline in 2022:
The activities are outlined with respective timeframe:
- Jan-Oct : Development of ports infrastructure and supply chain gap analyses.
- June: Workshop on Best practices of Offshore Wind port’s infrastructure Ceará-Denmark in Denmark, with participation of the following organizations from the state of Ceará, including: Secretariat for Economic Development and Labor of the State of Ceará (SEDET/CE), Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of the State of Ceará (IFCE), Pecém Complex (industrial Complex of the Port of Pecém – CIPP) Federation of Industries, Servetc and the Brazilian Support Service for Micro and Small Enterprises – SEBRAE / CE. IFCE Institute and Port of Pecém participants from the State of Ceará in Denmark. This activity is part of the State of Ceará Mission to Denmark in week 23.
- Oct.: Presentation of Ports infrastructure and supply chain analyses report, authored by Ramboll. Webinar organized in partnership with ABBEólica – the Brazilian National Wind organization including presentation of INNOWIND project’s results.
- Oct.: Danish Wind Energy Mission to Brazil with focus Supply Chain and B2B Match making in connection to the Brazil Windpower event and visits to relevant manufacturing and port facilities in the state of Ceará in week 42.
- Nov.-Dec: Best practices on knowledge sharing workshop on energy cluster development (online)
- Dec.: Project Final evaluation together with project partners.
