With the plan recently approved by the Danish Parliament, Energy Islands will become a reality, with a total installed capacity of 5 GW of offshore wind power. 3 GW in the North Sea, and 2 GW in the Baltic Sea. Considering this future massive production of electricity, the conversion of the latter into other energy carriers, power-to-x (P2X), will play a key role in efficiently integrating the Energy Islands within the Danish energy system.
