Tech Talk: Offshore Hydrogen Wind Turbines
Learn more about how the project investigates the concept of offshore hydrogen wind farms which produces hydrogen at higher output pressure than known state-of-the-art equipment on the market today. This hydrogen is then collected and transported onshore via a hydrogen pipeline and coupled to the envisioned European hydrogen gas network. The concept of decentral hydrogen production units with high output pressure enables significant savings in HVDC connection, offshore substations and eliminates the need for an expensive offshore compressor thereby leading to low-cost hydrogen generated by abundant offshore wind energy resources otherwise not exploitable.
