Brick-Based Digital Building Solutions

Challenge and solution idea

The goal of this project is to make Danish businesses into leaders within the field of Brick-based digital building solutions. Brick will become a new standard for semantically describing data from building systems (such as identifying the source of data, the room in a building from which the data was collected, whether the generator is a sensor or a control point, etc.).

Brick will become a new standard for semantically describing data from building systems (such as identifying the source of data, the room in a building from which the data was collected, whether the generator is a sensor or a control point, etc.). Brick is an example of a semantic technology that makes data integration across building systems possible, creating new opportunities for optimisation.

Such opportunities include smart control across ventilation, heating, and water systems. Increasing the use of operational data and implementing smart control makes it possible to adapt energy consumption to the building’s use, reducing it in the process.

A wide array of Danish businesses produce digital building technologies for purposes that include the measurement and management of energy consumption, water consumption, ambient temperature, air quality, movement patterns through buildings, and much more.

With this project, we will offer these businesses a unique leading position through introducing Brick technology in their solutions. This will make Danish businesses’ solutions into future international leaders for digital, Brick-based energy management in buildings throughout the USA and Europe.
